Rémy Marvely (@remymarvely) is an educator, magician, performer and sommelier. Originally from France, he started his career in the corporate sector; he then moved to Miami, Florida to train as a magician at the legendary McBride Magic School (@mcbridemagic).
As a sommelier, his idea was to learn magic in order to blend his practice with wine tasting and commercialise this unique combination into team building activities and events in corporations.
Through training and experimenting with different types of magic (illusion, card tricks, mentalism etc.), Rémy discovered a new passion. In 2015, he set up his events company and became a professional magician.
When he moved back to Europe, he chose Barcelona as his professional hub. He joined a famous theatre school that was connected to various children’s activity centres; this in turn led him to start working with kids.
Initially, Rémy taught magic in schools, entertainment centres and kids’ clubs. He then started offering animation and entertainment for kids’ birthday parties. And just a few months ago, he launched his first one-man magic show for families!
Like many of us lately, Rémy has had to adapt: in April 2020, he moved his entire offering online. Today, Rémy teaches magic to kids, animates birthday parties and runs his family magic show, virtually, across the globe! He also offers his services in-person, in Barcelona.
For Rémy, magic is not just about doing tricks; it’s also about psychology and art. Each child comes in with a different personality, cultural and educational background. The objective for Rémy is to help each student discover their unique style and develop confidence both as an artist and a performer.
