We do this through a suite of powerful technology solutions to help parents navigate the complex and highly fragmented world of extracurricular activities and to empower activity providers to grow their businesses.

toddl.co makes it easy for parents to find and book high quality enrichment opportunities for their kids. Launched 2.5 years ago, we are now the fastest growing marketplace for kids’ classes and camps in Spain, with a catalog of 2,000+ activities, 22,000 parents using the marketplace, and hundreds of providers advertising their classes through the platform.

At the start of 2023, we released a new all-in-one, cloud-based SaaS tool to help organisers of kids’ activities streamline their bookings, payments and client management. The software is fully integrated with the toddl.co marketplace, giving providers an easy way to reach new customers and freeing up time to focus on their businesses and the families they serve.

ABOUT THE PEOPLE

Our company is remote-first, but most of the team is based in Barcelona. While we are currently focused on the Spanish market, we have big ambitions and aspire to build Europe’s largest technology platform for kids’ activities.

Our founding team and advisory board members come from tech, entrepreneurship and finance backgrounds and have experience in starting, scaling and exiting ventures. Some of the companies we represent include eBay, Rocket Internet, Wallapop and Payflow. We are international (US, Canada, UK, Spain), and multilingual (English, French, Spanish, Catalan, Euskara).

toddl team - Job Search: Back-End Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a hands-on back-end developer who will be responsible for supporting the technical development of the back-end of the toddl.co marketplace that parents use to discover and book kids’ activities, and the SaaS solution that activity providers use to manage their business (activities, bookings, payments etc). 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our senior developers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, and implement backend services and APIs using appropriate technologies and programming languages.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
  • Optimize backend performance and scalability to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of backend applications to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services with user-facing features.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in backend development.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 2-3 year of experience as a back-end developer
  • Strong understanding of backend development principles, including server-side programming, databases, and APIs
  • Experience with at least one backend programming language such as PHP 
  • Experience with web frameworks such as Laravel
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to changing priorities
