British linguist Helen Doron was inspired more than 30 years ago by the principles of the Suzuki Method to develop her own method of teaching English.\nWhen her daughter was a young child, she realized that reading and writing were different skills from comprehension and expression.\nShe set out to create her own methodology that would allow children to learn to speak and understand the language before they learn to read and write it, just as with learning the mother tongue. <\/p>\n\n
