A citizen of the world, Kay Little grew up in Australia but moved around the globe from a young age. Seven years ago, she established herself in Barcelona with a ten month old son in tow. Today her boy is 8 years old, her second son is 4 and her third child Tembo Family Club is almost 2!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of school, Kay trained as an actress – and soon after, her passion for kids and education led her to start teaching theatre, English and physical education (amongst many other things!) to kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she arrived in Barcelona, she ran English playgroups and set up her own multilingual agency for nannies and teachers. She also ran English holiday camps which were often over-subscribed: this sparked the idea of turning her offering into a proper business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it was only later – following a trip to Uganda to set up an orphanage and school for local children – that she and her friend and fellow-educator Celia Arroyo decided to team up to launch a new business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And so Tembo Family Club was born. Tembo means elephant in Swahili. Elephants travel in a tight knit pack, and that’s exactly what they wanted their family club to become. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A “home away from home,” Tembo is an inclusive space for families in Ciutat Vella. Their offering is broad and ranges from a daycare, project-based curriculum for 3-5 year olds, events with experts (nutritionists, sleep experts etc.) for parents and much more! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
